"I Blame You" by Titans of DOOM feat. Nehanda is released on 28 May 2021.
Titans of DOOM are the political voice within the Birmingham scene who have crafted their unique sound by drawing on influences from hip-hop, drum and bass, metal, grime and punk as well the grim realities of the twenty-first century defined by institutional racism, cronyism, corruption, rising fascism, child poverty, climate emergency and a post-Brexit, post-COVID Britain.
“I BLAME YOU” by Titans of DOOM and sees the trio collaborating with 2020 Birmingham Music Awards winner Nehanda delivering a savage and unrelenting aural attack on the powers that be.
“I BLAME YOU” sees Nehanda providing an injection of melody to the typically abrasive Titans’ sound - leaning heavily on a 90’s pop classic. While Nehanda effortlessly provides the light relief on the one hand, the aggressive and rasping rapped bars on the other take aim at greed, the media, wealth, racism and war.
“I BLAME YOU” is an ode to all those in governments and institutions of patriarchal power that have allowed the planet to be decimated, that allow poverty to endure despite living in an age of excess, that encourage and support patronising policies to keep citizens dumb and that crackdown on protest by candle-light while simultaneously meeting with secret handshakes and back-slapping.
